Beautiful Bosque – New Mexico

Bosque del Apache National Wildfowl Refuge in New Mexico is the renowned winter home for large flocks of snow geese and sandhill cranes, providing spectacular photo opportunities of massed take-offs and landings. It’s usually cool, clear and crisp at this time of year, with early morning mists to enhance the atmosphere, and lots of potential for individual close-ups, silhouettes, and motion-blur. Explore your creative side! Aside from the dawn and dusk flock shots, we might also expect to see coyote and mule deer, and birds such as roadrunner, meadowlark, red-winged blackbird and Gambel’s quail.
