Southern Hebrides and Northern Ireland
5-13 June 2027
Holiday operated by Hebridean Adventures with Chris Gomersall as your wildlife guide. An eight night expedition cruise, based on the live-aboard motor vessel Hjalmar Bjørge, with a maximum of ten passengers, embarking and disembarking in Oban.
A new itinerary for us, taking in Rathlin Island and the Giant’s Causeway in Northern Ireland, by way of Jura, Islay, and Colonsay. We will be focussing on the wildlife, landscape and local culture of these beautiful islands. Rathlin Island is renowned for its teeming colonies of seabirds, including puffins, as well as the indigenous golden hare. There is also a small population of breeding corncrakes here, which we should hear at this time even if we can’t see them! And as usual we’ll be on constant watch for the marine wildlife throughout our voyage, likely to include common dolphins, minke whales, and other cetaceans.
Enjoy the pleasures of slow travel in a small group, fully catered with our excellent on-board chef.
Group size: 10 persons max
Cost: From £2880 per person, including eight nights full board. Single occupancy or en-suite cabins may be available for a supplement – please enquire.
