Saturday 13 April – Friday 19 April 2019
In association with the Northern Light Cruising Co Ltd. A six-night wildlife cruise, based on live-aboard motor vessel Hjalmar Bjørge, with a maximum of ten passengers, departing Oban.
Focusing on the fantastic island of Mull and surrounds, we aim to circumnavigate the whole island, with guided walks ashore planned daily, including a visit to the seabird colony on Lunga. The exact itinerary will be determined by local conditions and the discretion of the skipper. Chris will be sailing as your expedition leader, wildlife guide and photography mentor. This holiday is aimed at people with a love of the Scottish landscape, culture, wildlife, and slow travel, and while we expect there to be some unique photo opportunities during the course of the cruise, please note this is not a dedicated photography workshop.
Our ship is a former Norwegian rescue vessel, now fitted with stabilisers and sympathetically converted for live-aboard cruising. Each evening we will find a sheltered anchorage to spend the night, most likely in a a quiet sea loch. All our meals are taken on board ship, but maybe with packed lunches for longer shore excursions.
