Black bears and divers, Minnesota
In association with Nature’s Images, led by Stan Tekiela and Chris Gomersall.
A ten-day tour to the northern USA, and the enchanting boreal forest and lakes of Minnesota. Here we shall concentrate on two main subjects; the black bear and common loon (or great northern diver). We are fortunate to have privileged access to a site where black bears have become well habituated, allowing close-up photography of mothers and cubs in particular, but also passing adult males. On the lakes, we shall be using boats to give us intimate water level shots of common loons in their fantastic summer plumage, together with their chicks.
