Chris Gomersall is honoured to have received a highly commended award in the Man and Nature category of the Asferico 2014 competition in Italy. The photograph shows a gannet at the nesting cliff on the isle of Noss, Shetland, which is unfortunately fatally entangled in polypropylene rope – a tragic consequence of the gannets’ habits of decorating their nests with abandoned line and net.
